Relax and unwind in meditation to the sounds of crystal bowls and Native rain sticks as Amy Nolte creates the sounds of the forest for you.  Learn how the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku evolved in the 1980s as forest bathing, a (fully clothed) form of mediation in nature to reduce blood pressure and cortisol (stress) levels.  The trees produce more than oxygen for you...find out how you benefit from breathing in these helpful, organic compounds!   Participants are welcome to bring a yoga mat, pillow and blanket for the sound bath meditation.  Chairs will be set up for those preferring seated meditation.  Recommended attire for the forest bathing:  closed toe shoes, socks and pants, rain gear if needed.

Enjoy a light lunch as we introduce you to the practice of Shinrin-yoku for increased peace of mind, relaxation, connection to nature’s wonders, and mindfulness in the present moment. You’ll receive a guided meditation with Reiki attunement, forest “bathing” in the beauty of the Spa State Park, followed by a journal exercise. Forest Bathing, also known as “awe walks,” attunes you to your senses as you walk, sit or stand in a quiet natural setting without speaking. This is more difficult than it sounds, as we remain silent for 20 minutes in the forest, in addition to the guided meditation and Reiki attunement. Dress comfortably in socks, slacks and sneakers, and prepare for whatever Mother Nature provides for us that day, for this event takes place rain or shine! That’s the nature of Forest Bathing, to enjoy the beauty of this mindful experience.
